Q:
How does the SkyCaddie help my game?
Answer: The SkyCaddie has been proven to be very reliable and effective in advancing the game of both high and low handicappers. The SkyCaddie gives you accurate distance information to critical targets and hazards, therefore allowing you to only focus on your swing. The SkyCaddie informs you how far you hit your shot so that you can determine which club to use for certain distances. Course Management is the aspect that most players are missing; The SkyCaddie is the solution!

Q:
What is the difference between the SkyCaddie and cart-based GPS systems?
Answer: Cart-based systems typically have more features related to golf course services and only work on the course where they are installed. Since only a small percentage of courses can afford such systems, the SkyCaddie was developed as a highly portable personal device for the golfer instead of the golf course. At only 5 ounces or less, the SkyCaddie allows every golfer the benefits of GPS on any course in the world. Even on a course with a card based system installed, the SkyCaddie can be very helpful when the carts are not allowed off the designated path.

Q:
What is the advantage of using the SkyCaddie over a laser rangefinder?
Answer: There are several advantages. With the SkyCaddie, you can determine the distance to objects that are not in your line of sight. The SkyCaddie can provide you with distances to areas, such as bunkers and water hazards that are difficult to get with lasers. With the SkyCaddie, you can see those distances immediately. By using the SkyCaddie, you don’t have problems with overshooting a target or having to hold the device steady for accurate readings. The SkyCaddie is small, discreet, and compact.

Q:
Is the SkyCaddie legal during play?
Answer: The R&A and the U.S. Golf Association have sanctioned the use of distance measuring devices, including GPS based systems. New decision 14-3/0.5 allows a committee to permit the use of distance measuring devices by Local Rule. This applies to devices that measure distance only, not any other conditions that may affect a player’s game such as wind or gradient. In the absence of such a Local Rule, the use of a distance measuring device remains contrary to the Rules. We’ve recently become a product demonstration partner with the PGA of America and the SkyCaddie was the first electronic device to be used in tournament play on the Adams Golf Tight Lies Tour by adoption of a local rule to allow its use during play. Unless a local rule is adopted, you should check with your golf professional prior to use in a USGA sanctioned event.
